Fraser Group in association with Denis Garand and Associates has been selected by the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) to produce an updated Canadian Group Long Term Disability Termination Table. The most recent published CIA tables reflect the average experience for the 1988-1994 period.

The study will be based on pooled industry experience from the 2004-2008 period. The study expects to receive data from more than 90% of the claims in the industry.    

Termination tables are used by actuaries to compute liability estimates for disability claims and to develop prices for disability insurance.

The study is scheduled for completion by April 2010.
